This episode of Black Oxygen is brief. In this episode, our host, Angela Russell, provides an overview of the topics we’ll be covering in season 2. Season 2 of Black Oxygen is going to be focused all on love. We all know the often cited headline that WI is the worst state in the nation to be Black ... and yet Angela, a Black woman, that loves Wisconsin. She doesn’t think that Wisconsin needs to be a place of unrequited love for Black folks. She thinks that, collectively, we have the power to change the narrative. Angela says that a key foundational component in creating a better Wisconsin for all is a radical and revolutionary love. Not in an overly touchy-feeling superficial romantic sense - but in a way that calls us to explore what it means to love ourselves, each other, and re-imagine and create structure that embody a love ethic.
